The media relations staff assists Academy members as well as journalists with informing the public of the following health observances. Our current programs include:

Kids ENT Health Month
February is Kids ENT Health Month! National health statistics reveal that pediatric ear, nose, and throat disorders remain among the primary reasons children visit a physician, with ear effections ranking as the number one reason for an appointment.


World Voice Day

Celebrated on April 16, World Voice Day (WVD) is a health observance day advocated across the world to encourage men and women, young and old, to access their vocal health and take action to improve or maintain good voice habits.


Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week

Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week® (OHANCAW), is a weeklong series of events sponsored by the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. During the week, educational events are held around the world, as well as free oral cancer screenings at medical offices and hospitals around the world.

Better Hearing & Speech Month
May is Better Hearing and Speech Month! This annual provides opportunities to raise awareness about communication disorders and promote treatment for those who experience problems with speaking, hearing or understanding.
