CPT for ENT: Endoscopic Laryngoplasty

CPT for ENT: Endoscopic Laryngoplasty

Q: How can I report an endoscopic laryngoplasty?

A: The Academy recommends the use of CPT code 31599- “Unlisted code, larynx” to report an endoscopic laryngoplasty. Physicians should not use CPT codes 31580-31588 to report this procedure, as these CPT codes describe open procedures.

It is imperative that you select a CPT code that specifically reflects the procedure you performed to ensure appropriate reimbursement. In the absence of such a CPT code, use the most appropriate unlisted CPT code description to indicate the procedure.
