AAO-HNS, ALA and ABEA Advocate on Medicare SLP Telehealth Services

On May 5, the AAO-HNS partnered with the American Broncho-Esophagological Association and the American Laryngological Association in sending a joint letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requesting continued coverage of Medicare outpatient SLP telehealth services, provided by facility-based practitioners, after the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) ends on May 11. The coalition letter also requests clarity from the agency on how to report and bill for these SLP telehealth services beginning May 12. The AAO-HNS will share the response from CMS and related guidance through its website and an upcoming edition of OTO News.
