Ohio State University, PGY-3
I am excited to apply for a second term of the Chief Information Officer Position of the 2024-2025 SRF General Council. Throughout the past year we have grown our presence on several channels including email listservs, Instagram, and ENTConnect. Through increased communication and announcements, we have had increased engagement and awareness of Academy sponsored/Otolaryngology events. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with other members of the GC planning events such as our AAOHNS 2024 General Assembly Panels and various networking events. It has been a tremendous learning opportunity to see everything involved in planning, recruiting Panelists/attendees, and then executing the events. I would like to solicit feedback from attendees at our 2024 event in order to help improve the content and turnout next year. I hope to continue working with the Academy in a Leadership role such as the this for another term.
If elected to a second term, I would seek to even further increase our presence at a resident level across the country. Primarily, our Instagram page- I would like to feature a specific Residency program weekly on our page where they post various exciting accomplishments or fun activities the residents have been involved in. As the General Assembly only takes place annually, I think this would be an accessibly way to increase engagement throughout the year. This would showcase unique aspects about each program that would hopefully foster a sense of community and networking potential. Thank you for your consideration!
Previous/Relevant Experience: I currently serve as the Chief Information Officer maintaining an updated spreadsheet of all 200 Residency Program Representatives, sending out announcements (monthly or more frequently), deadlines, upcoming events etc. I send out emails, post on ENTConnect, and also draft Instagram content to be posted. I manage the social media page of the Ohio State University Instagram page as well. There is a lot of cross-pollination with sharing of ENT related events/announcements. Furthermore, several of our attendings are involved in Academy Leadership, and I can easily increase engagement on Social Media through tags/comments/mentions/reposts.
